Meta is introducing an updat video player on Facebook that brings together Reels, longer videos, and Live content “all in one engaging, full-screen experience.” The updat video player will roll out on iOS and Android first in the US and Canada, and globally in the coming months.
According to Meta in a news item publish on its website on Wnesday, April 3, 2024, with the new implementation, when the user taps on a video anywhere in the Facebook application, from now on “they will constantly see a full-screen, vertically orient video.”
This is a change from the fact that previously, depending on the length of the video or where it was being view, Facebook users “might” have seen horizontal videos or videos that play in a Fe-style player.

Facebook’s updat full-screen video player will also get new controls rolling out over the next few weeks, allowing users of the social network to watch videos the way they want.
“While videos will automatically appear vertical, you’ll see a new. A full-screen specific database by industry option on most horizontal videos that lets you rotate them to view in landscape view. You can also easily jump to the part you’re most interest in using. The slider at the bottom of the player,” Meta’s original news story explains.
