How do you know if someone has viewed your chat? Telegram and WhatsApp are two very different messengers, but they have some things in common. Among them is the curiosity of users to know whether or not someone has viewed their message. What do the green lines mean? Here is what Telegram explains about the signals in the chat.
The operation is the same:
A dash √
- The message has been delivered to the Telegram cloud;
- Your contact has been notified (if they allow notifications).
Two dashes
- The message “has been read” (your friend opened Telegram and opened the conversation).
Unlike WhatsApp, Telegram does not telegram marketing have a “message delivered to device” status because the messenger can be used on as many devices as you want at the same time. There is no way to know which device your contact will use to read the chat.
How to remove the last seen on Telegram
You can choose who sees this information in the app’s Privacy & Security settings.
- Access Settings;
- Tap “Privacy and Security”;
- Select “Last Login and Online”;
- Choose how you want to customize the settings (select “Nobody” if you don’t want anyone to know your “last seen”).
However, keep in mind that you won’t see the “Last Seen” time of people you don’t share yours with. It’s reciprocal. You will, however, see an approximate “Last Seen,” according to Telegram. This keeps stalkers at bay, key strategies and benefits of the internationalization process but makes it possible to understand whether a person is still using Telegram.

The same last seen rules apply to online status as well. People can only see you online if you’re sharing your last seen status with them.
“There are some exceptions because sometimes it’s obvious that you’re online,” Telegram says. Regardless of your Last Seen settings, cz lists people will see you online for a brief period (defined as about 30 seconds) if you send a message in a private chat or in a group you’re both members of; read a message that was sent to you in a private chat; broadcast a “typing…” status to a private chat with them or in a group you’re both members of.
If you are not sharing your Last Seen with someone and do not do any of the above actions, Telegram ensures that this contact will never see you online. Another way to never appear online to someone is to block them forever.
